Learning Log 2

Learning Log 2

I felt that the superstitions lesson was really fun because once again we got to do group discussion and also presented our work in front of everyone else. The whole class got to know about more superstitions that they did not know before and everyone could share what they know. It was interactive and overall I really enjoyed the whole lesson and look forward to literature lessons like this through the entire year. It could be improved with sheraids. For example, one person would be called out to stand outside the classroom and another person would be called out to write a superstition on the board for the whole class to see. Then after the class has gotten it, the person would be allowed to come in and the person who wrote the superstition would have to act it out and the class would give the guesser clues. This would allow the guesser to test his superstitions knowledge. Also, we got to learn why Shakespeare chose to use three witches in his play, "Macbeth". Witches are often dressed in black and they always remind us of curses and spells. This could be linked back to the superstitions lesson and we can infer that Shakespeare believes in bad luck. We got to learn two topics in 1 lesson which was almost like killing two birds with one stone. Finally, we got to act out act 1, scene 1 in the play "Macbeth" which allowed us to experience how it is like acting in front of an audience and how to capture their attention.
